A Single Central Server and Database

Although you can employ a separate server/database for each of your facilities, Ascend  makes it easy and economical for a large company to operate multiple facilities from a single central location. Ascend can support multiple facilities with a single Microsoft SQL Server database. Each facility’s data is logically separated from users at other facilities as required by HIPAA and the company’s security policies.  You can install Ascend  on the computers at your facilities, or you can employ a centralized Citrix or Terminal Services server to share the application remotely.  With Ascend, it’s also easy to operate a mixture of facility/service types (e.g. inpatient, outpatient, infusion services, and etc.) all from one shared server/database.

Centralized Functions

Hann’s On Software provides numerous Ascend  capabilities to help you manage multiple facilities from a central location, rather than having you repeat the same functions at each facility.  These capabilities include centralized facility inventory management, centralized order-template management, production of facility and company-wide reports, and security management to name a few. You can operate a central pharmacy and remote pharmacy locations simultaneously.  Ascend can enable you to provide certain users with security clearance to access patients, and fill orders, across multiple facilities if you wish.  Ascend also allows you to create multiple “locations” within each “facility” offering an additional, extremely flexible way of segregating and tracking data into subgroups that are most meaningful to your business (e.g., patients, orders, providers, financial data, utilization data, filtering reports, and etc,).
